James Zabiela‘s label – Born Electric has always aimed to value quality over quantity with the music they release. Following up July’s Iron Galaxy’s ‘Things We Lost Along The Way’ EP, Born Electric proudly present another debut release, this time in the shape of Sheffield’s thoughtfully warm Pedram. Born Electric’s fourth outing is already gathering early support from the likes of Midland, George Fitzgerald, Dusky, Tensnake among others.

Pedram-Nina-Immaturity

‘Nina” kicks off with luscious and assuaging pads which are soaringly warm in atmosphere. As the synth grows in authority a spacious bass sequence nudges into view whilst slender percussion hits, punchy drums and dispersed vocal chops give the track a full bodied flavour. On the flip “Immaturity” is less dense in construction, and is obviously meant for the those more breakdown type moments, sort of track you could imagine Jacques Greene spinning with its soft melody and R&B tinged vocals giving it depth, whilst a subby ghostly 4/4 rhythm provides just enough impetus for the dance floor.

Both tracks are of stellar quality and have laid down some extremely strong foundations for what could be an intriguing career for Pedram and Zabiela’s emerging label.

Nina/Immaturity EP is set to hit the shelves on the 11th November
